Located at the heart of New York’s bustling 57th Avenue Burberry’s new Flagship boasts a distinctive and unmistakeable façade.
The Gensler-designed six-storey shop front both embodies and sensitively reflects the exclusive Burberry Check trademark. With the façade - an asymmetrical grid made from clear glass, metal, and warm, caramel-coloured limestone – serving to fuse elements of Burberry’s distinctive brand heritage with contemporary urban design.
Seele attribute the success of the project to our detailed analysis and implementation of Client and Design Team requirements, and the high quality of our manufacturing process. To enable the highest possible quality to be achieved the entire façade was pre-assembled in Gersthofen, before being transported to New York in the largest possible elemental sizes (up to 4m x 12m). The 16.5 m (wide) x 25.4 m (high) façade, consisting of Magny Jaune Limestone and glass panels in equal proportion, was then re-assembled and installed at the project site.
